RNSG 1360 - Clinical-Foundations Nursing Practice


Semester Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 0 Laboratory Hours: 9
A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional (faculty or preceptor), generally in a clinical setting. A method of instruction providing detailed education, training, and work based experience and direct patient/client care, generally at a clinical site. Specific detailed learning objectives are developed for each course by the faculty. Onsite clinical instruction, supervision, evaluation, and placement is the responsibility of the College faculty. Clinical experiences are unpaid external learning experiences. Focus is on holistic human needs. Associate degree nurse role assimilation is facilitated through the development of identified major concepts. Enrollment requires official acceptance into the Nursing Program.
Required Prerequisite(s): BIOL 2401  BIOL 2402  and BIOL 2420 
Required Corequisite(s): RNSG 1105  and RNSG 1413  (if it is the second attempt at passing this course, then the co-requisite may be waived)
