2024-2026 Continuing Education Program Inventory List

Continuing Education Program Type Definitions

CE

Continuing Education Certificate: 360 to 799 contact hours
A coherent sequence of continuing education courses that must be submitted to the Coordinating Board as a workforce education certificate program.

OSA

Occupational Skills Award: 144 to 359 contact hours
A sequence of courses that meet the minimum standard for program length specified by the Texas Workforce Commission for the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program.

IA

Institutional Award: Fewer than 360 contact hours
A series of courses that represent achievement of an identifiable skill proficiency.
ICLC

Institutional Credential Leading to Licensure or Certification:
Awarded by an institution upon a student’s completion of a course or series of courses that represent the achievement of identifiable skill proficiency leading to licensure or certification.
