CJLE 1375 - Sex Crimes Semester Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Laboratory Hours: 0 This course serves as an introduction to criminal sexual offending, sexual victimization and other sexual behaviors, both criminal and noncriminal, which might be encountered by criminal justice professionals during their course of their duties. The course will examine the various definitions of sexual offending, the major criminological theories related to sexual offending, a brief history of social and legal responses to sex and sexual offending, and potential treatments and criminal justice responses to sexual offenders. The course will also address the consequences of criminal sexual victimization for the crime victims. Recommended Prerequisite(s): CRIJ 1301
