Provides preservice teachers with foundational principles, concepts, and methods for teaching science and mathematics. Focuses on developmentally appropriate instruction in four disciplines of science - Physical Science, Life Science, Earth and Space Sciences, and Engineering, Technology, and Applications of Science – alongside mathematics topics – arithmetic, geometry, algebra, probability, and statistics. Emphasis is placed on fostering scientific literacy and mathematical proficiency through inquiry-based learning, and technology. The course also addresses curriculum development, assessment, and classroom management strategies for teaching diverse groups.
