EDTC 1073 - Instructional Methods for Teaching English, Language Arts, Reading, & Social Studies Contact Hours: 48 CEUs: 4.8 Course designed to equip teacher candidates with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to effectively teach English, Language Arts, and Social Studies. Provides teacher candidates with knowledge and skills to integrate English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) with Social Studies in the classroom. The course explores the foundational principles of language acquisition, emergent literacy, and second-language development, with a focus on promoting oral language, reading, writing, and listening skills. Additionally, the course centers on the fundamental elements of elementary social studies programs, including the establishment of objectives, selection of materials, organization of curriculum, and exploration of content.
