Program Student Learning Outcomes

- Graduates will identify appropriate procedures to minimize or prevent injuries and illness in the workplace.
- Graduates will evaluate health hazards; and identify appropriate controls of the health hazards. Identify major health hazards found in the workplace and discuss their effects; apply threshold limit values and other appropriate workplace exposure standards as it relates to Industrial Hygiene.
- Graduates will assess hazards, safely store chemicals appropriately, develop appropriate procedure for responding to emergencies.
- Graduates will analyze factors which contributed to accidents; recommend appropriate changes to prevent further accidents.
- Graduates will identify and apply regulations and standards; identify and describe components of the contingency planning process; develop and or evaluate a contingency plan.
- Graduates will identify the OSHA regulations which apply to the construction industry; and demonstrate proficiency in retrieving specific information from Title 29 C.F.R. Part 1926 regulations.
- Graduates will evaluate a site case study, in order to identify possible hazards and or contamination and evaluate documentation associated with sampling and field analysis of the site.
- Graduates will identify the OSHA regulations which apply to general industry; and demonstrate proficiency in retrieving specific information from Title 29 C.F.R. Part 1910 regulations.
