The Associate of Arts degree is a collegiate degree providing liberal arts curricula in university parallel and the pre-professional areas related to the baccalaureate degree. This is not generally a degree with a declared major but is a program of first- and second-year courses, which will generally transfer to a four-year college or university. The Associate of Arts degree requires 60 semester credit hours.

General Requirements for an Associate Degree:
- A minimum of 25 percent of the semester credit hours required for the degree must be earned in residence at TCC.
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 is required for all TCC courses.
- A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required for all courses presented for graduation.
- All requirements of the degree must be satisfactorily completed.
- All financial obligations to the College must be met.
- Students applying to receive a subsequent two-year degree must complete an additional 15 hours in residence.

Associate of Arts Concentrations
Courses cannot be used to satisfy more than one requirement.
Developmental courses cannot be used to fulfill elective requirements.
