Program Student Learning Outcomes

1. Graduates will be able to assign diagnostic and procedure codes using CPT/HCPCS coding systems in various healthcare scenarios.
2. Graduates will be able to demonstrate the three different levels of healthcare systems – primary, secondary and tertiary. The student will have knowledge of the regulations, standards and policies in the management of information for patients in these systems within the healthcare community as defined by federal/state/local guidelines and regulations.
3. Graduates will be able to demonstrate essential qualities of leadership in healthcare environments, including self-awareness and team support.
4. Graduates will be able to utilize technologies for health information management through the perspective of a healthcare facility.
5. Graduates will be able to apply the definitions, concepts, frameworks and methodologies of data governance.
6. Graduates will be able to confidentially apply the knowledge learned in the HIT courses to the mock exam.
