Program Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Graduates will demonstrate effective written and oral communication and synthesis of credible sources with proper attribution through the creation of a capstone project. 
  2. Graduates will analyze the nature, extent, causation, and prevention of crime as indicated by the major criminological theories.
  3. Graduates will evaluate the relationship between police practice and the U.S. Constitution and demonstrate their understanding of Fourth Amendment principles related to search, seizure, and arrest.
  4. Graduates will apply the principles of substantive, procedural, and evidentiary criminal laws that guide the criminal justice system and its members.
  5. Graduates will analyze the role of diversity, culture, and social power in the shaping of the modern, American corrections system.
