Program Student Learning Outcomes

1. Graduates will demonstrate cognitive skills by achieving a successful score on the Certified Surgical Technologist National Examination.
2. Graduates will demonstrate the cognitive skills relevant to their role as a Certified Surgical Technologist by achieving a score of 3 or greater on a 5-point Likert scale on items related to cognitive skills measured by  their employers.
3. Graduates will demonstrate the technical proficiency in all skills necessary to function in the role as a Certified Surgical Technologist by achieving a score of 3 or higher on a 5-point Likert scale on items related to  technical skills measured by their employers.
4. Graduates will demonstrate practical aspects of operating room procedures, sterile techniques, instrument set-ups, patient care techniques, assessment and treatment of emergencies encountered during surgery.
5. Graduates will demonstrate affective and psychomotor surgical skills achieved relevant to employability, communication, teamwork, accountability, flexibility, and functioning under pressure as measured by their  employers.
