Semester Hours: 3 | Lecture Hours: 3 | Laboratory Hours: 0 Introduction to the history and physics of the electromagnetic spectrum with emphasis on the reflection and refraction on prisms, and single and compound lens systems. This course will also introduce principles of physical optics and the human eye as an optical system such as: object-image relationships, magnification, simple lens systems, optical relationships of eye structures, accommodation and effects of aging, refractive errors, astigmatism, prisms and Prentice’s Rule.
