Dental Hygiene, AAS

1. Graduates will demonstrate acceptable entry-level calculus removal skills.

2. Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of the dental hygiene process of care by treatment planning, providing treatment, and evaluating treatment provided for a periodontally involved patient

3. Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of periodontal disease levels by performing a Periodontal Assessment Technique Evaluation.

4. Graduates will demonstrate accurate usage of the dental hygiene process of care on all patients as an entry-level hygienist.

5. Graduates will demonstrate ability to safely use the Biolase laser on patients by performing a Laser Bacterial Reduction Technique Demonstration.

6. Graduates will possess effective communication skills of entry-level hygienist.

7. Graduates will possess knowledge of use of multiple ultrasonic scaling devices as an entry-level hygienist.

8. Graduates will possess abilities of giving informed consent for multiple procedures (i.e., radiation exposure, periodontal treatment, treatment in the clinic) for an entry-level hygienist.
