HIST 2381 - African American History + Semester Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Laboratory Hours: 0 Historical, economic, social, and cultural development of minority groups. May include African-American, Mexican American, Asian American, and Native American issues. This course surveys various topics in African-American History and Culture from the Atlantic Slave Trade to present with emphasis on Slavery, African Syncretism, Diaspora Culture, the Old South, development of 20th century race relations and African-American identity and culture, as well as transnational nature of the civil rights movement and Black Nationalism.
